Science, engineering find common ground on the Northeastern University ...

Northeastern University’s Boston Campus is easily accessible by air, road, train, and public transit.

BY PUBLIC TRANSIT:

Northeastern University has two MBTA public transit stations within a 1-minute walk of the campus:

  • Northeastern University stop on the Green Line
  • Ruggles Station on the Orange Line.

There two lines connect riders to downtown as well as western and northern neighborhoods of greater Boston.

BY AIR:

Northeastern University is a 30–40-minute transit or taxi ride from Boston Logan International Airport.

Two free public transit options will take you from Logan Airport to downtown Boston:

  • MBTA Silver Line – a rapid transit bus that will pick you up curbside at the airport terminals and connects to South Station where you can transfer to the subway system
  • Logan Express – a shuttle that will drop you off in Back Bay, within walking distance of Northeastern

There is also a light-rail only option from Logan Airport (requires payment of fare at Airport Station):

  • MBTA Airport Station to Light Rail – take the Blue Line from Airport Station and switch to the Orange Line at State Street to arrive at Ruggles Station

Bus services also connect Boston to Manchester Regional Airport (New Hampshire) and Providence T.F. Green Airport (Rhode Island) for travelers who may have an easier connection via these airports.

BY TRAIN:

Amtrak connects Boston with many other cities in the Eastern US via Boston’s South Station or Back Bay Station, major train terminals where riders can transfer to the MBTA Red Line or Orange Line, respectively, for connections to the rest of the city. From South Station, you can connect to Ruggles Station on the Commuter Rail for the same cost as a subway fare. From Back Bay Station, you can connect to Ruggles Station on the Orange Line directly.

Commuter rail service operated by the MBTA also connects Boston to other regional urban centers.
